Maryam Moadeli
Designer, Engineer, Thinker
Building thoughtful AI systems, writing honest field notes, and treating ambition like an endurance sport.
I’m Maryam Moadeli, and I build systems that are useful in real life, not just impressive in demos.
By day, I’m a Technical Solutions Consultant at Google. By night, I’m usually wiring together AI agents, local-first tools, and half-finished experiments that somehow become very real very fast.
I like being the person between big ideas and working software: the one asking, “what problem are we actually solving?” before the architecture diagram gets too confident.
What I Actually Do
Before Google, I was a Data Scientist at RBC, turning messy business questions into production-ready data and GenAI systems. My sweet spot is making complex things understandable, scalable, and slightly harder to break.
I care a lot about systems that feel calm under pressure: good abstractions, clear tradeoffs, and tools that respect the humans using them.
What I’m Building Right Now
My main personal project is Moka, a persistent AI agent system for memory, scheduling, reminders, and context that actually sticks around. Parts of that work live publicly in NanoClaw, while the fuller setup runs privately in Docker as an ongoing personal system.
This blog is my lab notebook. I write about what I shipped, what broke, what surprised me, and what I learned five minutes after thinking, “this should be easy.”
Why This Stuff Matters To Me
I love translating sharp technical work into language that makes people feel smarter, not smaller. That carries into mentorship too: through ADPList and startup advising, I help people figure out where AI can create real leverage and where it is just expensive decoration.
Outside The Browser Tab
I’m also a runner and fitness nerd. I treat training like product development: track the signals, ignore the noise, adjust the plan, repeat.
